Quoted from Kota Kemuning Doritis 1 website:
On 20th April, a book shop near the Yamaha Music School was robbed. This time, there was a single robber with, chinese in early twenties masquerade as a patron and rob both the store and some of the patron present. Suspect was using some sort of knife. We had a chance to speak with one of the victims yesterday, and suspect was said to be using some sort of martial arts sword rather than a knife. Suspect was last seen driven away in a black Proton Putra. The fact that this occur in a location so near to the Kota Kemuning pondok office is very disturbing.

Neighbour's Shrubs and MBSA Portal
Having problems with your neighbour's overgrown shrubs and bushes ... lalangs ... specifically those vacant lots. You either call them directly to clear or through their property agents (assuming that they have one of those banner around). One more option for you come May 2008. Call MBSA. What I heard is that MBSA will stick a notice asking the owner to clear / potong lalang within 10 days or so, failing to do so, MBSA will come in and clear it for them and then bill the owner of the house through Cukai Taksiran/Cukai Pintu.
Can someone confirm?
Btw, here is the MBSA webste where you can even file a complaint through their portal: www.mbsa.gov.my

Question on Land Title
Here's a question from one of our resident, Ms. Jennifer. Can anyone help ... with regards to the Land Title? Many thanks!
As for the MBSA - I would assume they will cut the grass and prune the trees.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#1: Hi, I am one of the resident in Canal Garden, just wonder has any of the owner of the Canal Gardens received the land title? We have been staying here for 2 yrs,and I hv checked with my lawyer, the land title is still in "process" at the land office.
#2. Since the MBSA is taking over in May, will they prune the tree beside cutting the grass?

Banner for Our Canal Gardens Residents' Community Blog
Another feedback from Mr. Gan with regards to the publicity of our Community Blog. In fact, we are making one (banner) real soon. In the meantime, please spread/spam/share with your neighbours.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Banner posted for all the CG activities (eg; monthly recylce, CG family day, Golf tournament, etc) at the entrance was effective and clearly noticed by those coming in & out daily. A banner showing the details of CG Blog should put in place as I believe quite a number of residents in CG does not know we had a CG Community Blog.
We should encourage them to access this Blog frequetly to get the most update infor of CG. When our CG residents appreciate on what CGRC has done, they will more than willing to co-operate and collaborate. By then, CGRC can be more recognize by the effort to make CG is a best preferred to live in Kota Kemuning.

Security SOP & Suggestions
From another concerned resident - Mr. Gan. Thanks for the effort and we would welcome more feedback and suggestion on how we can further improve our security. We would certainly implement whatever measure which keeps our community safer.
Please keep the feedback coming.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recent complaint on CG Blog was a good example and it really probe the weakness of CG security. In fact i seem it myself almost everyday during my entrance & exit of CG.
Proposed Solution:
1. Send a notice to all CG residents for SOP of CG access
2. At Guard House, we should have also include this notice so that all residents is fully aware on this SOP.
3. CG Blog setup was a execellent job, it can be become the main point for all CG residents to access and have a better collaboration between the CG community. With that, I believe CG SOP document should be posted in this Blog. Simply I believe there are a lot of residents didn't even have a copy of SOP.
4. We should start allocate the people in-charge to monitor day to day of this security concern.
5. Should start looking into implementing a proper visitor management system.
6. If we do not act on it now.. worst can become coz CG comprises of 600 units houses unlike other gated community. Typically others has around 200 units.
I sincerely hope my comments and suggestions is taking into the consideration from CGRC.
Please keep the feedback coming.

FOR first-term Sri Muda assemblyman Shuhaimi Shafiei, good time management is very important as he juggles his time between his family and his political career.
“If we are in politics, most of our time will be spent outside for sure. But I make sure that I spend quality time with my family every weekend,” said the soft-spoken Kota Raja PKR vice- chairman.
“I take my wife and son shopping and watch movies once in a while,” he said.
Shuhaimi added that his wife was initially not so supportive of his intention of going into politics.
But after much explanation on his fight for the future of the next generationhis wife accepted his decision with an open heart.
The biggest challenge for him now is to make the residents keep their confidence towards the new leadership.
“More often than not, the residents want immediate action taken to solve their problems. But we need time to conduct detailed research before taking any action,” he said.
“I really hope that they will be patient and do not ask for changes overnight which are impossible,” he added.
StarMetro: Do you blog?
Shuhaimi: Yes, my blog address is http://srimuda.blogspot.com/. I started it before the polling day and I make it a point to update my blog every day. I post entries about my activities and photos. I plan to upload videos taken during the campaign period too, to share with the readers the overwhelming response we received from the people.
StarMetro: How much time do you spend on the computer each day?
Shuhaimi: About half an hour to 45 minutes to read and reply emails, update my blog and read articles by Datuk A. Kadir Jasin, Datuk Ruhanie Ahmad and Hishamuddin Rais.
StarMetro: Do you enjoy reading?
Shuhaimi: Yes, I always have four to five books to read at the same time. I read for 10 to 15 minutes before I doze off each night. I enjoy books on politics and strategies, such as Anwar Ibrahim's Gelombang Kebangkitan Asia, Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People and Dr Syed Husin Ali's Dua Wajah Tahanan Tanpa Bicara.
StarMetro: What languages do you speak?
Shuhaimi: Bahasa Malaysia, English and a little bit of Bahasa Banjar (a branch of Malay language widely spoken among villagers). I am not a Banjar but I was surrounded by friends who spoke this language in school.
StarMetro: What kind of music do you listen to?
Shuhaimi: I like slow-paced music and my favourite musicians are Kitaro and Kenny G. I often listen to their music when I need to think of solutions for my problems.
StarMetro: Do you play any musical instrument, dance or sing?
Shuhaimi: When I was young, I used to play traditional musical instruments such as maracas and tabla for a band called Kumpulan Sri Melor Klang. We often had recordings in a radio station for a programme called Asli Rama back then. I also know a little about guitar. During the campaigning period, there were times where we started off our ceramah with musical performances to pull the crowd. The response was good and I also hit the drums a little to show my talents (laughs).
StarMetro: What is your contribution to environmental conservation?
Shuhaimi: I don't have any specific contributions in particular but I am into gardening. I have planted chilli, turmeric, lemongrass, putat and other herbaceous plants in the land behind my house. I like to eat ulam and I like to pluck them fresh from my garden before mealtime.
StarMetro: What is your hobby?
Shuhaimi: I like to collect traditional weapons such as keris and I have been stopped at immigration a few times for bringing in the items into the country. So now whenever I go overseas, I have to declare my intentions with Bukit Aman Police Headquarters. I have about 50 items in my collection now. I also like to collect foreign coins and money.
StarMetro: Are you into football?
Shuhaimi: Yes, I was a football player for my primary school. I wouldn't say no to any invitations to play football. Although I have not played for a very long time already but I would say that my skills are still with me (laughs).
StarMetro: What other sports do you play?
Shuhaimi: Badminton, tennis and golf. I started golf four years ago due to work commitments but I must admit that I am not really into it. Nonetheless, I still play regularly at the driving range at Kelab Rekreasi Tentera Udara so that I will not lose my swing.
StarMetro: Got a nickname?
Shuhaimi: When I was young, my family called me Adik Mat, now my younger siblings call me Abang Chik, as I am the second son in the family.
StarMetro: Any phobia?
Shuhaimi: Yes, of toad. A toad decided to stay in my bathroom once. Whenever I caught it and threw it out, it would come back within four or five days. One day I saw it looking at me while I was taking a bath; I got fed up and covered it with a coconut shell. I totally forgot about it and went back to my hometown for a week. When I got back and lifted the shell all that was left was the toad's skeleton. I felt so bad and thus this phobia for toads now.
StarMetro: Favourite actresses? Why?
Shuhaimi: Catherine Zeta Jones. To me, she always appears as a caring and loving wife, who tries her very best to help her husband in her movies (laughs).

Please Call Kesas (03-8025-0808) to Voice Our Feedback
Another good example where one of our concerned residents took the initiative to share our feedback with KESAS on the "new" contra flow which is affecting the residents of Kota Kemuning. We would like to thank Mrs. Yong for making the effort to help highlight the problems faced by all of us.
Please do your part and buzz KESAS Traffic Department (03-8025-0808) and ask to speak to Encik Zainuddin or Encik Khairy. We need more voices so that we will be heard and appropriate actions will be taken to help ease our morning "traffic pains". Thanks!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Called Kesas hotline yesterday and they ask me to directly call their Traffic Department (03-80250808) and ask to speak to Encik Zainuddin or Encik Khairy. I did spoke to Encik Zainuddin yesterday afternoon to complain about the situation. According to him, they change the opening because there are a lot of people coming from the Klang toll complain that there are a lot of queue jumping in the previous contra flow opening. With this change, they plan to set up a meeting with the police to ask the policeman controlling the traffic light at Hicom Interchange to take in more cars from Kesas highway. They hope that by doing this, the jam at the Hicom Interchange will ease and they will monitor the situation for this whole week. I told him that it may not really work because the traffic jam at Hicom Interchange is happening all these while without any improvement even though using the previous contra flow. I ask them to consider other alternatives to ease the pain of the residents coming out from Kota Kemuning/Bukit Rimau and also ask him if the bad traffic jam still persists, then what are they going to do next. He told me that they will consider reverting to the old contra flow opening next week if the result still remains bad this week.

We Need More Feedback on Security Matters
We need more feedback from you especially on the security issues. This is one good example on how we all can contribute to help make Canal Gardens safer place for all of us. There are complaint / feedback forms available at the guard house. However, just to make sure that all of us are aware of the "incidents", do email us, just like what one of our concerned residents did here (please read the note below). Include the date/time as well so we can ask the security providers to "polish" their security team.
A big thank you to Jo Ong for the detailed feedback.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yesterday on 15 April, my lady friend came to visit me at 8.30pm. When she stopped at our Canal Garden guardhouse, she was conveniently let in by the guards on duty without having to surrender any identification cards or even having to say the house address she was visiting. All she said was that she was going to visit a friend inside Canal Gardens. The guard did not even give her a visitor pass. I guess the guard was being 'lenient' as she was a lady, and driving alone.I then decided to test the guard and see how relaxed our security guards are. At 9.30pm, my friend and I (both ladies) drove out of Canal Gardens using the visitor lane. All we had to do was to 'angkat tangan' and smile and we were let out of the exit. No questions asked. A while later, we drove back in, back again to the visitor lane and again, we just 'angkat tangan' and said we were dropping off a friend. The guard (different guards each time) never asked a question and just raised the bar to let us in.Now - I'm wondering - just how secure is our Canal Gardens? And how much use is our monthly maintenance bill is put to good use? It doesn't matter whether the visitors are ladies (may seem harmless) or not, security should check everyone and follow procedures before letting anyone in our Canal Gardens. This is seriously a slack in security. I hope someone can look into this, and highlight this to the security department.
