CGRC Meeting - March & April 2008

The CGRC (Canal Gardens Residents Committee) had our 5th and 6th Monthly Meeting on 14th March and 11th April respectively. Here are some of the key summaries of items discussed:

1. Canal
CGRC thanked the residents for the good turnout and superb support on 27th March 2008, and also the support from Datuk Bandar, MP, ADUN, PPKK as well as MBSA. MBSA has agreed to resolve the canal issues. We can look forward to a better and cleaner canal when we have floodgates and additional discharge points. Design will be released within the next few weeks. We will leave it to MBSA to deal with the Developer. We just want the canal to be the same “spec” as promised by the Developer. Read here for more info: VIP Visited Canal Gardens.

2. Grass Cutting
MBSA will take over the overall grass cutting responsibilities from 1st May 2008 onwards and they have apparently appointed Alam Flora to perform this job. We will publish the contact numbers for all so that we all can directly contact the respective parties for all future complaints and enquiries.

3. Lighting
MBSA is making rounds to “upgrade” the lightings from 70W to 125W/150W. Please be patient as this may take a few weeks to complete. We will request for better lighting for the Basketball, Parks and Central Park lighting.

4. Security
There was one incident on 24th March – shoes theft. We request all residents to give a helping hand by adhering to our security SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) by using the access card to get in and out of Canal Gardens. Please ask your visitors to register at the Guard House every time they visit. Please help to make sure our security guard do their jobs. If you find them slacking or lepaking, please lodge a complaint. There are complaint/incident forms available at the Guard House. Or send an email to us: CanalGardens@gmail.com. Read here for more info: Security Breached - Road L.

5. Family Day & Golf Tournament
Overall a very good turnout and support from the residents. The Family Day was a self-sustained event funded through the participants’ collections as well as contributions from our sponsors. For Golf Tournament, we managed to add some funds into our Canal Gardens Residents Community Fund. Read here for more info: Family Day and Golf Tournament.

6. PPKK Membership Drive
Canal Gardens Residents’ Committee was formed under the patronage of Persatuan Penduduk Kota Kemuning (PPKK). We have received superb support from PPKK. The recent visits by the VIPs, highlighting our plights are all done through PPKK. There will be an AGM next Tuesday 15th April at Kota Permai Golf & Country Club. We would like to see more residents of Canal Gardens becoming members of PPKK. Read here for more info: PPKK (Persatuan Penduduk Kota Kemuning).
