Here are some of the key items which we went through during this meeting on Friday, 15th February 2008:
1. Dirty and Stinky Canal (Macam Canal, Bukan Canal)
The canal in Canal Gardens is way too dirty, clogged up, producing foul stenches, to be called a canal. Uh... It looks like a canal, sounds like a canal but we are really not sure whether this is actually a canal. We understand that this so-called canal is actually meant to be a big drain ... it is now functioning more like a longkang besar without proper floodgate, oxidation system. We need a proper floodgate, extra culverts, oxidation system to keep this canal functional and clean. So we need to fix this asap!
2. Securities (Tidak Apa Attitude and Work Ethic)
The are many complaints on the tidak-apa attitude and tak-kisah kerja problems with our current security guards. Contractors and visitors are being allowed to enter without proper verifications and there are no proper checking when they exit. We also have problems with our own residents, some who just refused to use their cards (for reasons only known to them) and expect the security guard to recognize them and main tekan the switches to allow them free entry. We would like to seek the fullest cooperation from all residents to help our security guards to their jobs. You should tegur, tick off or at least highlight if they are not doing their job properly and not when they ask you to sign in when you don't have the proper entry card.
3. Setting Up and Registering a Proper Residents Association for Kota Kemuning Canal Gardens
One of the way to resolve our current issues with regards to poor maintenance services rendeered by our developer (or developer's sister company) - from securities to cleanliness, is to setup and register a fully recognized Residents Association for Kota Kemuning Canal Gardens. We are targeting to achieve this as soon as possible, within the next couple of months. For your information, we are now currently operating under the patronage of PPKK (Persatuan Penduduk Kota Kemuning).
4. Golf Tournament Updates

7. Speeding Dangerously in Canal Gardens
We would like all residents to observe the speed limit within Canal Gardens. Please go slow, stick to 30-40KM/Hour. If you seen anyone speeding, be it our residents and/or outsiders, please list down the Car Number/Date & Time of the incident and email to us. We will go address this directly with the resident. If these speed-maniac is outsider, for example, contractors or visitors, we may blacklist and ban them from entering Canal Gardens. We will also be getting quotations for mirror to be placed/located at the blind corners of Roads F and P.
Here's our Action Plan:
- Letter to HGD Property Services Sdn Bhd requesting for a meeting – done and awaiting their response. They have refused to meet us for the past seven months. We paid our monthly maintenance services ... but they refused to even participate in meetings ... how can?
- Representation to Mayor and Wakil Rakyat on the problems faced by Canal Gardens residents ... especially the big canal issue!
- Follow-Up with MBSA on the street light which has not been functioning for the past 6 months at the Central Park.
