Our Canal Gardens Residents' Committee 3rd Meeting was held on Friday, 14th December 2007. Our Chairman, Mr. Krishnan Jr. updated the rest of the members on overall progress on our request to fix existing issues pertaining to Canal Gardens. As our developer has partly handed-over and happily washed-off their hands to MBSA on landscape and street lighting, we have to deal with MBSA directly on some of the following matters.
Here are the updates:
1. Replacing dead trees and planting more trees along the canal (MBSA delivered the plants on 14th Dec, and will be planting soon).
2. Improving the lighting (MBSA has agreed to put up adequate lighting for our basketball & badminton courts; more lighting along the canal as well as brighter lighting for our areas/streets).
There is still one thorny issue which we need our developer to fix - our canal. Apparently our developer has yet to successfully handover the canal to MBSA. Numerous meeting requests by Canal Gardens Residents' Committee were rejected by our developer. We are very disappointed with the attitude shown by our developer. On principal, MBSA has agreed to request our developer to "fix" the issues pertaining to our canal e.g. setting up floodgate, widening the canal, extending exit point of the canal prior to accepting the handover.
Canal Gardens Residents' Committee will also write to seek an appointment with the Big Boss of Gamuda in the hope that we will be able to have a channel to help us resolve all the open issues amicably, as soon as possible.
Canal Gardens Residents' Committee will keep all posted. Please tune in for more updates.
