Pokok-Pokok Baru from MBSA

Recently, we have managed to get MBSA to plant around 200 new trees all over Canal Gardens. This is part of the exercise to replace the old dead trees as well as tambah new ones to beautify as well as to provide more shades, in the near future, once these trees "grow up".

Trees are "green machines" that act as natural filters of our air. Through the process of photosynthesis they absorb carbon dioxide (a key contributor to global warming) from the atmosphere and store it in their trunk, branches, leaves, roots, soil and foliage, while releasing oxygen back out.

Apart from that, by planting more trees ... we can ...
  • create more shades - suasana lebih redup

  • provide an interesting, soothing environment for our children and our community especially for morning/evening walk and cycling

  • prevent soil loss

A BIG THANK YOU to MBSA and the CGRC folks!

Follow Up Part 2: Rumput dan Lalang

Complaint was lodged on 21st May and follow up with additional enquiries on 26th May, 1st June and 5th June (today). Still awaiting for response - nothing from MBSA.

If there's no response by next Monday, we'll just try our wakil rakyat again.

Read here on our earlier complaints to MBSA: Rumput & Lalang and Rumput & Lalang I.

And please be aware of snakes too ..... as some residents have been noticing quite a few recently especially with the overgrown lalangs near the canal.

Neighbour's Shrubs and MBSA Portal

Having problems with your neighbour's overgrown shrubs and bushes ... lalangs ... specifically those vacant lots. You either call them directly to clear or through their property agents (assuming that they have one of those banner around). One more option for you come May 2008. Call MBSA. What I heard is that MBSA will stick a notice asking the owner to clear / potong lalang within 10 days or so, failing to do so, MBSA will come in and clear it for them and then bill the owner of the house through Cukai Taksiran/Cukai Pintu.

Can someone confirm?

Btw, here is the MBSA webste where you can even file a complaint through their portal: www.mbsa.gov.my
